For some reason, I really like both of these photos, especially when they are paired together. Their colors are a bit muted, and the face is pretty much hidden in both photographs, which I think adds to a bit of the mystery between the two individuals. What do you think, internet?

The photos work because they lend a sense of privacy to intimate moments. Beautifully done!

Hi Joanie, thank you for the comment.
“The photos work because they lend a sense of privacy to intimate moments”
Indeed! Ultimately, this image is off the path from the traditional wedding portrait; it leaves a bit more to the imagination, and thus perhaps a bit more privacy to the personal union. So, by not being in the image, they are allowed to be in it uniquely for themselves. Great insight, Joanie.

stopping by to say hi. “hi!”
great images throughout. I like the angle of the hand-holding one above. Makes a great composition, and would work well as a stock photo, I think. Agree with the intimacy comment, too.

i’m glad i came across this again, becuase it’s just excellent.
i looked through every single one of your pictures on flickr the other day and vowed to fave only one, otherwise i’d fave your entire photostream.
this picture along with many of your diptychs stuck out in my mind. while i enjoyed just about all of your shots/pieces (and i can say proudly with my nose stuck up in the air that i’m a photo snob) this pair is one that i just love.
you have a great eye. also, thanks for dropping by my blog! -dan
