Vector Images
Last night was my first attempt at creating a vector image. And I loved it! First off, perhaps I should explain a few things, like what a vector graphic is. From Answers.com, it says a vector image is “A computer image that is stored and displayed in terms of vectors rather than points, allowing for easier scaling and storage.”
Basically, it’s a computer generated image or graphic. In a software application, like Adobe Illustrator, you can create these illustrations by moving your mouse all around the screen. 5 hours later, you got a vector :-)
How do you create vectors?
How do you create vectors? Now, I’m afraid that information is top secret. Just kidding. I picked it up from a tutorial here: How to create a vector
Why did I choose these colors? Well, I wanted to experiment with the various tools and colors in Adobe Illustrator. So, these colors might be a bit muted, or perhaps too much, but I’m trying this vector thing out for the first time, and I have to say it was quite fun.
Why do you like to create vectors?
Ever since I was a kid, I loved to draw. In fact, when I was about 6 years old, I entered this drawing contest for pepsi; I had to design and create a theme park. I drew the sucker day and night, and they ended up picking my drawing as the winner. Given that I was so young, I don’t really remember much about it, except for the fact that my family and I won a trip to Sea World in San Diego, California as the prize for my award winning drawing (from now on, I use ‘award winning’ on my resume; thank you, pepsi!)
Ever since then, I’ve been drawing in my spare time in the off-chance there may be another drawing contest that would take me back to see Shamu (my first, and last, sea creature friend). Alas, this has not been the case.
So, now you see, drawing leads you into all sorts of wonderful, crazy places, like meeting a giant killer whale named Shamu, or sitting in front of your desk for 5 hours. Yup, all kinds of wonderful places.

Thanks for your comment, Amy. And yes, Shamu is real, and he was my friend, sort of.
